DYFS article in today's Bergen Record

There was an interesting article in the Bergen Record for June 2, 2010 that reported on a study by a federal monitor examining DYFS's performance in matters concerning children in their care.  The long and short of the study was that the monitors found improvements in items like seeing that children received appropriate medical and dental care, but a sad lack of progress in attempting to reunify children with their parents.  It mentioned that only 2 percent of 2,801 foster children had "documented weekly visits with their parents".  Only 17 percent saw their parents every week.  There was also a failure to hold family team meetings with family members, care givers and others.  Parts of the report are included below:
